On July 7, the EPA held a public hearing on two proposals that would reshape federal drinking water standards for PFAS, the class of chemicals commonly known as forever chemicals. At the hearing, Environmental Protection Network Policy Director Michelle Montoya testified that the proposed rollback disregards established science on cumulative PFAS exposure — one of several voices arguing the process is moving faster than the underlying risk assessment.
