at 2016 Western Plastics Association Annual Conference
Long Beach, CA, June 14, 2016– Anoosheh Oskouian, CEO at Ship&Shore Environmental, Inc., will spearhead a panel at the 2016 Western Plastics Association Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 23rd at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach. A number of topics and technologies will be presented to address current issues facing the printing industry, specifically a new, highly controversial California rules and regulations.
“Major companies and processors from the west coast will be attending the Annual WPA conference. I look forward to sharing our company’s experience and insights about upcoming rules and regulations and environmental and energy solutions for the plastics industry with colleagues, as well as learning about current challenges and new technologies from them,” says Oskouian.
Oskouian brings years of industry experience and knowledge about efficiency measures, equipment and strategies. The panel in which she will participate, entitled “How Will YOU Reduce Costs When Cap & Trade Taxes Kick In?,” will analyze whether the plastics industry can meet targeted reduction numbers. In addition, panelists will discuss the effects of the California AB32 rule requiring manufacturers to go back to 1990 levels of utility consumption and possible carbon taxation that will be enforced by 2020.
“AB 32 requires California to reduce its GHG emissions to 1990 levels by 2020 – a reduction of approximately 15 percent below emissions expected under a “business as usual” scenario, and we at Ship & Shore have solutions that can help companies meet these requirements efficiently and cost-effectively,” says Oskouian.
