36th Year of Friendship Between the Sister Cities of Long Beach and Qingdao, China.

The Program Mission:

Climate change is an existential issue for mankind. As the world’s largest economies, the United States and China are critical participants in attempting to hold the global temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius. At the recent UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow the 2030 target commitments received from participants are estimated to hold the increase only to 2.4 degrees Celsius assuming those commitments are met. There is much for all of us to do to assist and motivate our respective countries to cooperate in meeting the goal that will allow our Earth to survive for future generations to enjoy and thrive.
