The Department of Energy (DOE) has proposed energy efficiency rules for commercial refrigeration equipment and walk-in coolers and freezers. Based on analyzing data, commercial refrigeration equipment and walk-in coolers and freezers can reduce energy bills up to $4 billion and $24 billion over a period of 30 years, respectively. These rules will reduce 350 million tons of carbon dioxide in 30 years.
