AM Monday – Heat Exchanger Maintenance

Ensure efficient heat recovery and prevent fouling or degradation.

Tasks:

• Visual Inspections: Perform regular visual checks for signs of cracks, corrosion, or physical damage to the heat exchanger.
• Cleaning: Remove any debris or particulate build-up from the heat exchanger surfaces to ensure optimal heat transfer.
• Check for Fouling: Inspect for the presence of oil, soot, or other substances that could cause fouling. Use brushes or pressure washing as needed to clean the media.
• Check Insulation: Ensure that insulation around the heat exchanger is intact and not showing signs of wear or degradation.
• Check for Leaks: Look for any air or gas leaks that might reduce efficiency, especially at joints or seals.
• Pressure Test: Periodically perform a pressure test to ensure there is no drop in system pressure, which could indicate leaks or blockages.

Frequency: Inspect monthly, clean quarterly, and check for leaks annually.
