Long Beach, CA, December 3, 2018 - Ship & Shore Environmental, Inc.,

a leading U.S. pollution abatement firm, announced today that it has recently collaborated with TC Transcontinental Packaging, a leader in the flexible packaging industry in North America, to install a 50,000 SCFM Ship & Shore Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) at its Transcontinental Flexstar plant in Richmond, British Columbia, thus making it the first flexible packaging plant in the BC Lower Mainland to install a pollution abatement system of this caliber.

"We are delighted to see this project's completion with TC Transcontinental Packaging, a company undergoing rapid expansion in flexible packaging. Our advanced RTO technology reduces emissions in a safe and controlled environment while increasing operational efficiency, decreasing costs and minimizing environmental impacts. Our packaging clients benefit from our extensive printing process knowledge and our ability to meet strict environmental standards. We are very familiar with the local environmental regulations, site requirements and process needs in Canada," said Anoosheh Oskouian, CEO of Ship & Shore Environmental, Inc.

New technologies, sustainability concerns, and the growing economy have led to remarkable growth in the flexible packaging and printing industry in the last two decades in the U.S. Companies are looking for more sustainable solutions in packaging and beyond. There are numerous other trends affecting this industry, and environmental consciousness is no longer an option for manufacturers - it is a necessity.

"We are pleased to announce that our plant has completed the installation of the RTO, a project made possible thanks to the collaboration of Ship & Shore Environmental, Inc.," said Mike Aves, Director of Operations for Transcontinental Flexstar. "The RTO removes the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and air pollutants that are discharged through our process exhausts, thereby improving air quality both indoors and outdoors, and significantly reducing our environmental footprint," explained Mr. Aves.

Marc Bray, General Manager of Transcontinental Flexstar, added: "As part of TC Transcontinental Packaging's commitment towards compliance and social responsibility, our plant was looking to control and capture VOCs. The installation of this regenerative thermal oxidizer reduces our plant's emissions by more than 90%. Additionally, we are proud to be the first flexible packaging company in British Columbia's Lower Mainland to have a system of this caliber."
